Richard Knepp
I'm a software engineer with more than five years of experience building enterprise web applications in Java and Spring MVC on Oracle.
Much of that work was data work: PL/SQL packages and stored procedures, dynamic SQL, batch exports, and an ETL tool that brought third-party data into Oracle application schemas. I also worked on the front end (JSP, JSTL, JavaScript) and refactored inherited business logic while the codebase was being modernized.
Since late 2025 I've been working on my own projects, mostly in Python and Kotlin, and running my own Linux infrastructure: Debian servers, Docker Compose, nginx, WireGuard, and self-hosted mail and git. The first writeup here covers getting a clone Wi-Fi dongle working on Linux.
If you'd like to get in touch, email is the fastest way to reach me.

- Getting a clone AIC8800D80 Wi-Fi dongle working on Linux
Unbranded 1111:1111 dongles show up as a fake CD-ROM and no driver package recognizes them. One vendor-specific SCSI command fixes that.
More project writeups will follow as I clean up the code behind them.
